I’m a Naturopathic Doctor with a true passion for creating highly engaging, motivating, and lasting learning experiences.
After practicing for 7 years in Waterloo, Ontario, I decided to walk away from clinical practice and move home to my beloved Nova Scotia to raise my family. At that point, I started working with natural health product organizations where I held senior roles in the areas of medical affairs, clinical research, and education. While I had a strong medical background and could write well-researched white papers, I quickly realized that wasn’t enough to launch education programs that could effectively change behaviour or influence business outcomes.
Over the years, I found several consistent barriers that were hindering the success of education programs from neglecting the learners needs/wants to lack of engagement to inaccurate and inconsistent messaging, and finally to onboarding failures.
After identifying a variety of barriers, I immersed myself in all things education – learning theory, technology, learning management systems, eLearning authoring tools, game-based learning, and much more. At the same time, I deepened my experience with key opinion leader relationships, peer-reviewed publications, scientific posters, scientific advisory boards, and running advisory board meetings.
