Project Description

Patients today are information seekers with a plethora of knowledge available at their fingertips. Taking a greater role in their healthcare decisions, patients actively seek medical information outside of the doctor’s office, often relying on social media, blogs, testimonials from “influencers”, anecdotes from family or friends, written health literature, Youtube, and more. In fact, patients today have access to more information than they could ever hope to read! The problem is that this health information may be complex, overwhelming, inaccurate, or come from unreliable sources. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly important for medical and wellness organizations to create high quality patient resources so patients can take a proactive role in their own care.

I believe that patient education should be viewed as part of the continuum of health care because patients who are more engaged are more likely to have positive outcomes. Whether it is concise written collateral, educational videos, or easy-to-follow diagrams, you can drastically improve real-world medical and wellness decision making by offering accessible materials that engage patients and deliver relevant and actionable information. With the learner top of mind, I will work with you to create patient resources that are credible, clear, and easy to understand.
