Project Description
There is growing demand for small, ‘just in time’ learning modules that fit an immediate learning need. Microlearning is a short, focused, burst of content (ideally 3-5 mins long or shorter) for learners to study at their convenience. Microlearning is being increasingly used by many organizations because it appeals to learners; the experience is similar to checking your favorite social app on your smartphone, compared to the “serious study” feel of regular training. Not only does microlearning consume less time, its accessibility on multiple devices when needed and rich media formats ensure better retention of the learning. Organizations are embracing microlearning as it can be cheap to built, quick to deploy, and can be updated fairly easily.
I firmly believe that microlearning is the future of education and I would love to explore this concept with you. The development of this ‘any size’ approach to learning can simply be the creation of smaller modules that are used flexibly as stand-alone, free, open resources, or aggregated into courses or certificates, and which can also be used as stand-alone, free, open resources. These smaller modules fit the needs of people’s dynamic lifestyles as well as those needing greater flexibility.
